SANTA MONICA, USA // Archie Davis is the current Chief Creative Officer and Executive Vice President of Def Jam Recordings, where he oversees creative for all projects coming out of the label. Following the success of his partnership with Ryan Coogler on the Black Panther soundtrack, Archie joined Proximity Media at its genesis to help build out the music, marketing, and audio aspects of the company. Under his roles at both Def Jam and Proximity, Archie has brought together the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Music From and Inspired By Album, which features music from Rihanna, Stormzy, Burna Boy and more.
Prior to his position at Def Jam, Archie was an SVP of Marketing and A&R at RCA, executive music producer of the film of Judas and the Black Messiah, and executive producer of Judas and the Black Messiah The Inspired Album. In addition to his role at RCA, Archie is the CEO of Six Course Inc, a creative agency and production company.
Archie is an award-winning entertainment executive who has created some of today’s most prolific and celebrated campaigns for artists and brands. One of his most notable campaigns was the Wendy’s mixtape We Beefin’ - for which he won several Cannes Lions and Clio Awards. Prior to joining RCA, Archie was SVP of Urban Marketing at Interscope Records where he oversaw campaigns for Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, Rae Sremmurd, Mike Will Made-it, Rich The Kid as well as the highly acclaimed Black Panther soundtrack.
Archie also co-founded the OPM Company alongside Dom Kennedy and sits on the board of advisors for Dreamhaus, a Los Angeles-based non-profit organization dedicated to implementing the arts as both an educational tool and as a viable career path.
